About Us

Through the use of positive behavior interventions and restorative discipline we will make our students secure and safe.  Our school fosters success through exemplifying diverse life accomplishments.  Our students are provided with rigorous curricula, instruction, and assessment aligned with the State Standards while being exposed to the arts.  Professional learning for parents and teachers is the means to improving instruction, strengthening our relationships, and increasing the sense of belonging among our entire community.

Letter Home to Families about May 28 Parent Teacher Conferences

Upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences at IS 126: IS 126 will be hosting in-person Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, which has been rescheduled from the original NYCPS date of May 8th. This event will allow parents to meet with their child's current teachers and connect with those for the upcoming school year.

The conferences will be held at IS 126, from 5:00 PM to 5:55 PM, parents can arrange meetings with this year's teachers using Teacher Reacher. Following that, they can participate in either Session A or Session B from 6:00 PM to 7:55 PM, featuring presentations from the 7th and 8th grade teams. For further inquiries, please read the attached letter or contact Parent Coordinator Ms. Jessica Pineda. We look forward to your participation!

Vote to Upgrade Our Auditorium Air Conditioning!

As a community, we have an opportunity to support various initiatives through the participatory budget. This year, one of the projects up for a vote is to upgrade the air conditioning system in the IS126Q auditorium. This improvement will create a more comfortable space for students, staff, and visitors. Get involved and have your say by voting for the project you believe will make the greatest impact!
